House Fire - Dover, DE
The Dover Fire Department was alerted for a house fire in the 600 block of Nimitz Rd. Chief Carey arrived first to find a 2 story single family dwelling with heavy fire throughout the structure. Engine 2, being first in, was advised to stretch a hand line through the front door in an attempt to make an aggressive interior attack. Due to deteriorating conditions the line was backed out and defensive tactics were utilized. It took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. The scene was turned over to the city fire marshals office for investigation.
