The Cambridge Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire at 422 Race St at the Salvation Army Thrift Store building. Command arrived on scene to find heavy smoke conditions coming from the front of the structure. Crews tried to advance a hose line through the front of the structure while another engine crew was setting up ground ladders to the rear of the building. Command requested fire crews from departments from 5 different counties including; Dorchester, Caroline, Talbot, Wicomico and Sussex to battle the blaze. Fire crews were on scene for nearly 5 hours. The fire reached 4 alarms. The Maryland State Fire Marshals Office is on scene investigating the cause of the blaze.
