Church Fire - Bridgeville Delaware
Early on the morning of 9-27-2013 the Bridgeville Fire Department was alerted for a automatic fire alarm at Lifeway Church of God on Seashore Highway. Command 72-15 (Chief J. Cannon) arrived to find heavy fire coming from the children's nursery area of the church. Command upgraded the alarm to a working structure fire which alerted Sta. 87 Seaford and Sta. 78 Greenwood. The first engine in was ordered to drop 5 inch supply line up the lane. Engine company crews made an aggressive interior attack. Command requested a tanker assist from Sta. 71 Blades. Tower 87-7 arrived and used its ladder to get crews to the roof for ventilation. Crews had the fire knocked in less than an hour but remained on scene for another 3 hours.
