On 12-22-2013 the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department was alerted for an accident with injuries in the area of 3272 Stein Hwy. While units were enroute the 911 center advised 87 Command that one subject was trapped and would be upgrading the alarm to a rescue. With the upgrade Sussex County Medics 200 & 107 were added to the job. Rescue 87 arrived and was positioned to set up for the extraction. Crews used two Holmatro tools to take off both the drivers side doors off the Jeep. EMS crews were inside the vehicle was crews removed the doors. Crews made quick work and EMS packaged the patient for transport to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. The driver of the other vehicle refused treatment at the scene. The Delaware State Police is investigating the cause of the accident. Seaford Fire Department Fire Police shut down Stein Hwy during the alarm.
