Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association Honors Poster and Essay Award Winners
On January 5ththe Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association held its annual Fire Prevention Poster and Essay Awards Program. The event was hosted by the Hartly Vol. Fire Company.
Children kindergarten through Grade 3 prepared a Poster on their assigned Fire Prevention Topic. Children Grades 4 through 8 completed Essays.
Once being judged a First Place Winner at the County Level the Posters and Essays moved on to the State Level where they placed First, Second or Third.
250 people were in attendance at the Awards Program and included guests such as State Fire Commission Representatives, Delaware Vol. Firefighter Association Officers, representatives from the State Fire School, Fire Marshal’s Office and they school districts the children represented.
