On Monday night January the 13th the Laurel Fire Department, along with SCEMS and Trooper 2 were alerted for a MVC with Rescue on Shiloh Church Rd east of Laurel. Fire Chief Keith LeCates responded and arrived first to find a single vehicle on its side, with the occupant still inside. Rescue personnel arrived on scene shortly after and stabilize the vehicle with junkyard dog struts. Once the vehicle was stabilized, and the glass was removed, Rescue workers were able to extricate the operator out of the front window. EMS deemed that Trooper 2 was not needed, and the patient would be transported by ground. Chief LeCates placed the incident under control and units cleared shortly after.
