House Fire - Federalsburg Md
On 1-20-2014 Federalsburg, Preston and Hurlock fire departments were alerted for a house just down the street from the Federalsburg firehouse at 104 University Ave. Sta.87 Seaford was also alerted for a Rescue truck to respond. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from a 2 story brick home. Fire crews had problems gaining entry into the home due to all the furniture packed inside the home. Interior crews performed an aggressive fire attack. Tower 1 from Federalsburg arrived and placed its tower in the air and its crew pulled the front windows on the 2nd floor to gain access and for egress. While crews were performing overhaul they found a room filled with marijuana plants so the Federalsburg Police Department was alerted to the find. Crews were on scene for nearly 2 hours. University Ave was shut down during the alarm.
