House Fire - Seaford Del.

On 2-3-2014 the Seaford, Blades and Bridgeville fire departments were alerted for house fire on Burton St east of town. 87 Command (B. Taylor) arrived on location to find heavy fire coming from the single story home. Reports came in from 911 center that the home owner may be still inside the home. Command advised engine 87-2 when they arrived on location to put one line in service through the front door and head towards the bedroom on the left side of the home. The first engine from Blades arrived and put a hose line in service through one of the back doors to the home. There were heavy fire conditions through out the ceiling area of the home and soon the fire vented itself through the roof. Fire crews were advised that the home owner was found at a next door neighbors home. Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 45 minutes.

The Delaware Fire Marshals Office was on scene and investigating the cause of the fire. The home was a total loss. There was a heavy Delaware State Police presence on scene as well.
