Fire Commission Honors Fire School Deputy Director Martin on his Retirement

        At the March 18^th meeting of the Fire Commission time was taken to recognize Delaware State Fire School Deputy Director Steve Martin on his retirement.

        Steve was hired at the Fire School on March 16, 1982 by Director Louis Amibili.  During his time he has overseen considerable expansion of the Kent Training Center as well as the development of the Kent and New Castle County Divisions.  Steve has been responsible for Methods of Instruction and Instructor Development.  Looking at today’s Classes there are probably no instructors in the Fire School System that have not been exposed to training led by Mr. Martin.

        He has been instrumental in making the school’s industrial programs a National Leader.  He also has been responsible for the school’s accreditation and certification programs, again, recognized nationally for their level of quality.
