Accident w/ Rescue - Delmar Maryland

On 4-5-2014 the Wicomico County 911 Center alerted Station 74 Delmar for an accident with rescue at the intersection of State St & Woodlawn Ave on the Maryland side of town. 74 Command (74-20 Abbott) arrived to find a two car collision with one on its side with the driver still inside. Rescue 74 arrived and prepared to cut the roof off of the pick up truck. Crews used a Rhyno Glass Cutter to remove the windshield from the vehicle and gained access to the driver and were able to remove him without cutting the roof. Engine 74-2 arrived and its crew put a 1-¾ inch hose line in service to protect crews. The Delmar Fire Police closed down State St and Woodland Ave. One patient was transported to PRMC in Salisbury Maryland for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle refused treatment at the scene. Crews cleared in less than an hour.
