Delaware Volunteer Firefighter Day 2014
Did anyone notice the hundreds of firefighters standing outside of Legislative Hall in Dover? The firefighters, representing all three counties, were present to support Governor Jack Markell while signing a proclamation honoring all Delaware Volunteer Firefighters. The resolution proclaimed April 8th "Delaware Volunteer Firefighter Day." This is a small part of a large effort being headed by the DVFA for recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters throughout Delaware. As an active volunteer firefighter I'd like to thank the Delaware General Assembly, DVFA and Governor Markell for their efforts to strengthen the volunteer workforce.
