As I am away on my family vacation this week in Charleston SC, I was able to capture this accident involving a horse carriage. Just an hour before this my family and I were sitting on the cement wall on this very same corner waiting for our carriage ride, Then an hour later as we were returning on our own horse ride this accident happened a block away from us. Here is the story that was posted on ABCNEWS4 website in Charleston SC. Hit The Plug photos were also used on www.SCONFIRE.COM website.
A spooked carriage horse toppled a carriage Tuesday afternoon on Market Street in downtown Charleston.
According to Charleston police, the accident happened near the intersection of Market and Anson streets. There were three people on the carriage at the time, police said. One pedestrian had some scrapes and bruises, according to officials.
Police said the horse and carriage belonged to Charleston Carriage Works. A man from Palmetto Carriage Company seen in a picture circulating Twitter was helping the people involved in the incident. Palmetto Carriage was not involved in the accident.
The horse is fine, but police have not figured out what spooked the horse yet.
