Car Fire - Blades Delaware

On 6-25-2014 the Blades Volunteer Fire Department was alerted for a car fire on Cedar Ln. east of town. 2^nd Assistant Chief Ray Hastings arrived on scene and found a PT Cruiser with heavy fire coming from the engine compartment and he established Cedar Ln command. Engine 71-9 arrived on scene and put a 1-¾ inch hose line in service. Firefighter Mike Hurlock worked for about 5 minutes to extinguish the fire. EMS crews attended to the driver of the vehicle who was having medical issues. The Delaware State Police was requested due to the vehicle being in motion when the vehicle caught fire.
