Accident w/ Rollover - Bridgeville Del.

On 8-31-2014 the Bridgeville Fire Department was alerted for an accident with rollover and multiple victims on Rt.13 just south of the Rt.404 intersection. With the updated information coming in Trooper-2 and the Sussex County Paramedics 102, 107 and the supervisor was added to the call. 72 Command (72-15 Jack Cannon) arrived and requested additional EMS units from Greenwood and Seaford. Fire crews arrived and assisted EMS crews with removal and packaging of 7 patients. One vehicle was upside down and down a deep embankment so careful patient carrying was needed while working in this area. The accident was declared a Mass Casualty Incident Level 1 due to the amount of patients. Trooper-2 was cancelled and returned to the hanger. Patients were transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford and also Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. Rt.13 southbound was totally shut down for about 45 and then opened up to one lane of traffic during the alarm. The Bridgeville Town Police are handling the investigation of the cause of the accident.
